Pre-collision System Switch Circuit [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PCS OFF SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      PCS OFF Switch Pre-collision system switch status ON or OFF ON: Pre-collision system function disabled due to switch operation
      OFF: Pre-collision system function enabled due to switch operation
      -

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Data List 

      Tester Display
      PCS OFF Switch

      OK

      When the pre-collision system switch is operated, the display changes as shown above.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the No. 2 combination switch assembly (pre-collision system switch).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the No. 2 combination switch assembly (pre-collision system switch).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 09/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY [PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM SWITCH] - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I37 No. 2 combination switch assembly (pre-collision system switch) connector.
    2. Disconnect the I19 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I37-4 (ECU) - I19-5 (PBSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      I37-4 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I37-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
