DTC C1298/98: Linear Solenoid Circuit [09/2014 - 09/2020]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the F43 transfer transmission wire connector.

   *a	Component without harness connected (Transfer Transmission Wire)

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F43-1 (BSF) - F43-3 (SLC)	20°C (68°F)	5.0 to 5.6 Ω
   F43-1 (BSF) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   F43-3 (SLC) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

1. Disconnect the A54 4WD ECU assembly connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A54-2 (SLC+) - F43-1 (BSF)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A54-1 (SLC-) - F43-3 (SLC)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A54-2 (SLC+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   A54-1 (SLC-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   F43-1 (BSF) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   F43-3 (SLC) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SLC+, SLC- CIRCUIT) 

1. Remove the transfer control solenoid assembly.

   Refer to COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ]

2. Inspect the transfer control solenoid assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ]

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE TRANSFER TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ]
