TC and CG Terminal Circuit [11/2017 - 10/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - 10/2018]

      HINT: 

      When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding sensor.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTCs are not output A
      CAN communication system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2017 - 10/2018]

  2. INSPECT DLC3 (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O8-13 (TC) - O8-4 (CG) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  3. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2017 - ]

    2. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Check that the "DIAG AWD FF" or "DIAG AWD XX (DTC)" is displayed.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      "DIAG AWD FF" or "DIAG AWD XX (DTC)" is displayed A
      "DIAG AWD FF" and "DIAG AWD XX (DTC)" are not displayed B

    Result: 

    END

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3) 
    1. Disconnect the A91 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A91-33 (TC) - O8-13 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      O8-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT) 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG OF DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O8-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.
