DTC P0617: Starter Relay Circuit High [10/2015 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STARTER SIGNAL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Primary / Starter Signal.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Starter Signal
    5. Check the value displayed on the Techstream when the vehicle is driven at 20 km/h (12.4 mph) or more.
      WARNING:

      When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

      Result

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  2. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly.

      for 2WD models: Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ]

      for AWD models: Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ]

    REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  3. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STA SIGNAL CIRCUIT) 
    1. Repair or replace the harness or connector (park/neutral position switch assembly - ST NO. 1 relay - ECM - TCM - certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)).

  4. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STA SIGNAL CIRCUIT) 
    1. Repair or replace the harness or connector (park/neutral position switch assembly - ST NO. 1 relay - ECM - certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)).

  5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0617) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - 11/2017]

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTCs are not output B

  6. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (STA SIGNAL) 
    1. Check the smart access system with push-button start (for start function).

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - 11/2017]
