Diagnosis System [09/2015 - 08/2019]
- DESCRIPTION
Dynamic torque control AWD system data and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read through the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) of the vehicle. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the Techstream to check for malfunctions and perform repairs.
- CHECK DATA LINK CONNECTOR 3 (DLC3)
- Check the DLC3.
Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION [09/2015 - ]
- Check the DLC3.
- FUNCTION OF AWD WARNING
- The AWD warning message displayed on the multi-information display warns the driver if the condition of dynamic torque control AWD system is poor or abnormal.
- If the 4WD ECU assembly detects a malfunction, the master warning light illuminates and the multi-information display displays warning messages to warn the driver in accordance with malfunction.
HINT:
Check that the master warning light illuminates for approximately 4 seconds.
- CHECK MASTER WARNING LIGHT
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and check that the master warning light comes on for approximately 4 seconds.
HINT:
The master warning light goes off while the system is in DTC output mode.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and check that the master warning light comes on for approximately 4 seconds.
- CHECK AWD WARNING
- Check AWD warning.
- Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3 (to enter diagnostic mode).

- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Read the output of the multi-information display.
HINT:
- Although the test mode is not set for the dynamic torque control AWD system, the message is displayed on the multi-information display when the test mode is activated for checking the VSC, etc.
- During diagnosis, "DIAG AWD" is displayed on the multi-information display.
- If the dynamic torque control AWD system is normal, "DIAG AWD FF" is displayed on the multi-information display.
- If a malfunction in the dynamic torque control AWD system is detected, "DIAG AWD XX (DTC)" is displayed on the multi-information display.
- DTCs are explained in "DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART".
- If the normal system code ("DIAG AWD FF") or stored DTCs are not displayed on the multi-information display, perform the following troubleshooting procedures.
