Wireless Transmitter Memory Function does not Operate [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - ] ).

      OK

      CAN communication DTC is not output.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check the manual lock/unlock function by using the multiplex network master switch assembly (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Manual lock/unlock function operates normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

  3. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Entry Function) 
    1. Check the entry unlock function of smart access system with push-button start (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Entry unlock function operates normally.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Entry Function) 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - ] )

    Result:

  4. CHECK SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION 
    1. Perform a seat position memory function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the seat position memory function.
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK

      Seat position memory function operates normally.

    GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat Position is not Memorized)

  5. CHECK SEAT POSITION RESTORING FUNCTION 
    1. Perform a seat position restoring function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the memorized position.
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not return to the memorized position if 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If a restoring operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory restoring function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK

      Seat position restoring function operates normally.

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FL DOOR COURTESY) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY (MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU])

      FL Door Courtesy Front door courtesy light switch assembly signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver door open

  7. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Engine switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

  8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MEM SW NO. w/ KEY ID) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  9. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Close and lock all doors.
    3. Unlock the driver door by pressing the unlock switch of the memory call registered key or touching the driver door outside handle while holding the memory call registered key.
    4. Open the driver door and check that the driver seat moves to the memorized position (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Driver seat moves to the memorized position.

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - ] )

  10. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with a new one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    Result:

  11. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Engine switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

  12. REPLACE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the power seat switch assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

  13. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Engine switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

    Result:

    END (POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

  14. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the position control ECU assembly with a new or normally functioning one.

    Result:

  15. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Engine switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch

      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).
