Front Passenger Side Power Window does not Operate with Front Passenger Side Power Window Switch [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (P DOOR P/W SW) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the front power window regulator motor is functioning properly (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2015 - ] ).
      P-DOOR MOTOR

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      P Door P/W Up SW Front passenger side power window manual up signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side power window manual up switch operated
      OFF: Front passenger side power window regulator switch not operated

      P Door P/W Down SW Front passenger side power window manual down signal / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side power window manual down switch operated
      OFF: Front passenger side power window regulator switch not operated
      -

      OK

      On Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] or refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the front power window regulator switch RH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (UP) - 5 (GND) Manual up operation Below 1 Ω
      10 (DOWN) - 5 (GND) Manual down operation Below 1 Ω
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Auto up/down operation Below 1 Ω
      2 (UP) - 5 (GND) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
      10 (DOWN) - 5 (GND) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q9 front power window regulator switch LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q2 front power window regulator motor LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q9-2 (UP) - Q2-10 (UP1) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q9-10 (DOWN) - Q2-7 (DWN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q9-2 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q9-10 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q4-6 (BDR) - Q4-1 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      Q4-3 (SIG) - Q4-1 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q4-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q9 front power window regulator switch RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q9-5 (GND) - Q4-9 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q9-5 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q2 front power window regulator motor RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q2-2 (B) - Q4-5 (BDRJ) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q2-1 (E) - Q4-2 (PWE) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q2-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q2-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  8. INSPECT FRONT DOOR MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH 
    1. Remove the front multiplex network door ECU RH (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (PWE) - 1 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      9 (SGND) - 1 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] or refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2014 - ] )
