Pre-Collision Brake Cancel Switch Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE CANCEL SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the pre-collision brake cancel switch assembly is functioning properly (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

      On screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT PRE-COLLISION BRAKE CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the pre-collision brake cancel switch assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 (GND) - 2 (ECU) Pressed Below 1 Ω
      1 (GND) - 2 (ECU) Not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PRE-COLLISION BRAKE CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE CANCEL SWITCH - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G52 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the G43 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G52-2 (ECU) - G43-5 (PBSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-2 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
