DTC P011A-62: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1/2 Signal Compare Failure; DTC P111A-62: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1/3 Signal Compare Failure [12/2017 - ]: Description
In vehicles equipped with a water control valve, the coolant temperature is detected in 3 locations (inlet, cylinder head and outlet) to provide appropriate coolant temperature control for operating valves.
During complete water stop in the warm-up process, the outlet engine coolant temperature sensor that was conventionally used for temperature adjustment does not perform temperature detection because there is no coolant flow. Therefore, the cylinder head engine coolant temperature sensor is used to monitor and control the temperature during water stop instead of the conventional outlet engine coolant temperature sensor. In conditions other than complete water stop in the warm-up process, the outlet engine coolant temperature sensor is used to control the coolant temperature the same as in conventional temperature adjustment.
The inlet engine coolant temperature sensor is used to improve responsiveness after warm-up.
