DTC P011A-62: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1/2 Signal Compare Failure; DTC P111A-62: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1/3 Signal Compare Failure [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P011A-62 AND/OR P11AA-62)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P011A-62 is output A
      DTC P111A-62 is output B
      DTC P011A-62 and P111A-62 are output C
    6. Record the freeze frame data.

      HINT:

      • When the engine is cold, the value of the engine coolant temperature sensor (for inlet side), engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) and engine coolant temperature sensor (for outlet side) should be approximately the same.
      • If only one of the sensors has deviating output values, this sensor may be malfunctioning.

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine and fully warm up the engine with the air conditioning off until the electric cooling fan starts to operate.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Coolant Temperature Sensor1, Coolant Temperature Sensor2 and Coolant Temperature Sensor3.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List
