Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPORT MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Sport Mode Switch.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Sport Mode Switch
    5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition
      Sport Mode Switch Sport mode switch (satellite switch set) condition ON or OFF Sport mode switch (satellite switch set) not operated: OFF
      Sport mode switch (satellite switch set) being pushed and held: ON

      Result

    6. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:

  4. INSPECT SPORT MODE SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET) 
    1. Inspect the sport mode switch (satellite switch set).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - ]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPORT MODE SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPORT MODE SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G49 sport mode switch (satellite switch set) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G49-7 (GND) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the G49 sport mode switch (satellite switch set) connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SPORT MODE SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET)) 
    1. Disconnect the G166 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G49 sport mode switch (satellite switch set) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G166-37 (SPRT) - G49-3 (P) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      G166-37 (SPRT) or G49-3 (P) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      G166-38 (NORM) - G49-2 (B) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      G166-38 (NORM) or G49-2 (B) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the G49 sport mode switch (satellite switch set) connector.
    5. Reconnect the G166 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]
