How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [11/2021 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

    2. Check the fuses and relays.
    3. Check the connector connections and terminals to make sure that there are no abnormalities such as loose connections, deformation, etc.

  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      HINT: 

      Refer to CAN Bus Check in CAN Communication System.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2022 - 10/2023]

      OK

      CAN communication system is functioning normally.

  4. CHECK DTC (ETHERNET COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)* 

    HINT: 

    Refer to DTC Check / Clear.

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2021 - ]

    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 5 minutes.
    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Ethernet Switch1 > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > Ethernet Switch2 > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs output from Ethernet switch 1 and Ethernet switch 2 A
      DTC output from Ethernet switch 1 or Ethernet switch 2 B

    Result: 

    GO TO ETHERNET COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2023]

  5. CHECK DTC* 

    HINT: 

    • Refer to DTC Check / Clear.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2021 - ] 

    • If diagnostic communication cannot be performed, there may be a power supply path malfunction (including low power supply), communication line malfunction or ECU malfunction.
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 5 minutes.
    2. Check for DTCs.

      Chassis > Advanced Drive eXtension Control > Trouble Codes 

    3. Check diagnosis related information.

      Refer to UTILITY [11/2021 - ] 

      Chassis > Advanced Drive eXtension Control > Utility

      Diagnosis Related Information

      HINT: 

      • Diagnosis related information is, for some DTCs, to store diagnosis related information that matches the symptom when it is detected that the certain symptom occurs.
      • The advanced drive extension system may temporarily stop advanced drive for some DTCs prior to confirming the DTC after a malfunction occurs. Also, only diagnosis related information may be stored if the DTC is not confirmed.
      • If only diagnosis related information is stored without a DTC being output, clear the stored DTC and then clear diagnosis related information.
      • When a DTC is saved to the Techstream, the diagnosis related information is also saved at the same time.
    4. Clear the DTCs

      Chassis > Advanced Drive eXtension Control > Clear DTCs 

      HINT: 

      DTCs, freeze frame data and diagnosis related information are cleared at the same time.

    5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 5 minutes.
    6. Recheck for DTCs.

      Chassis > Advanced Drive eXtension Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2021 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  6. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (RoB)* 
    1. Check for vehicle control history (RoB) and note any codes that are output.

      Chassis > Advanced Drive eXtension Control > Utility

    2. If the vehicle control history (RoB) is output, record it.

      Result

      No vehicle control history (RoB) is output A
      Any vehicle control history (RoB) is output B
