Problem Symptoms Table [10/2020 - 07/2022]
HINT:
- Use the table below to help determine the cause of problem symptoms. If multiple suspected areas are listed, the potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.
- Inspect the fuses and relays related to this system before inspecting the suspected areas below.
- *1: w/ Shift Paddle Switch
- *2:
If the engine stalls 3 times or more, the TCM suspects that the shift solenoid valve SLU is stuck on. In this case, the TCM releases the lock-up oil pressure when the engine is next started as engine stall avoidance control.
If the shift lever is moved to D or R during engine stall avoidance control, shift shock will occur. In this case, the variable gear ratio range and output torque will be restricted.
If the shift solenoid valve SLU is not malfunctioning, engine stall avoidance control can be canceled by performing the following procedure:
- Using the GTS, clear the DTCs for the ECU (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear operation).
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2018 - 07/2022]
- Drive the vehicle at 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for 5 seconds or more and then stop the vehicle.
If the vehicle is attempted to be stopped when the shift solenoid valve SLU is malfunctioning or when engine stall avoidance control has not been canceled, engine stall avoidance control will be performed to prevent another engine stall. In this case, shift shock will occur and the variable gear ratio range and output torque will be restricted.
