Installation [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the steering column hole cover with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
  Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
INSTALL STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)
1. Temporarily install the steering sliding with shaft yoke to the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Align the matchmarks and install the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft to the steering column assembly.
2. Install the bolt.
  Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR)
1. Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
  Torque: 26 N*m (260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)
2. Install the brake pedal return spring.
3. Connect the connectors.
INSTALL STEERING ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VGRS)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
INSTALL MAIN SHAFT LOWER DUST COVER (w/ VGRS)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
CONNECT STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
CONNECT STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD w/o VGRS)
1. Align the matchmark on the steering sliding with shaft yoke with the matchmark on the power steering link and install the bolt.
  Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
2. Tighten the bolt of the steering sliding with shaft yoke closest to the vehicle interior.
  Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
3. Attach the clamp to the No. 1 steering column hole cover.
CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD)
1. Align the matchmark on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft with the matchmark on the power steering link and install the bolt.
  Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
2. Attach the clamp to the No. 1 steering column hole cover.
INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20
INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT LOWER PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] )
INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Attach the 3 claws to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable.
2. Connect the connectors.
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)
1. Connect the connector.
2. Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column upper cover.
3. Attach the 4 clips.
4. Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column lower cover.
  NOTE:
  Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
5. Install the 3 screws.
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)
1. Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column upper cover.
2. Attach the 4 clips.
3. Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column lower cover.
  NOTE:
  Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
4. Install the 3 screws.
ADJUST SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
(Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] )
CHECK FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE:
- Reset the auto tilt away function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2014 - ] ).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] ).
CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
(Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2014 - ] )
PERFORM VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION (w/ VGRS)
(Refer to CALIBRATION [09/2014 - ] )
