Fail-Safe Chart [09/2014 - 11/2017]

HINT: 

If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the ECM and cancels control of vehicle speed by the cruise control system.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition
  • Cruise control indicator goes off
  • A warning message "Check Cruise Control System" is displayed
  • "Pong" warning sound is heard
  • Open or short in stop light switch circuit
Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON/OFF button).
  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit
  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit
  • Communication error between the ECM and the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU)
Engine switch is turned off and back on (IG) again.
Cruise control indicator remains illuminated. (Control of vehicle speed by cruise control system is canceled.)
  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (25 mph)) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed
  • Vehicle stability control system operates while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed
  • Traction control system operates while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed
  • Traction control system or vehicle stability control system is off
Cruise control switch is pushed to +/RES.
Vehicle speed is lower than stored vehicle speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more Cruise control switch is pushed to -/SET.
Cruise control indicator goes off Problem with throttle position sensor or motor Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON/OFF button).
