Reverse Shift-linked Function of Power Mirrors does not Operate [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2021 - ] ).
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ] )

    Result:

  2. CHECK POWER MIRROR CONTROL FUNCTION (ELECTRICAL REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR FUNCTION) 
    1. Check the electrical remote control mirror function (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2015 - ] ).

      OK

      Electrical remote control mirror function is normal.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2020 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check if the shift position indicator light in the combination meter assembly operates normally.

      OK

      Shift position indicator light indicates actual shift position correctly.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2019 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR POSITION SENSOR) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - ] ).
      MIRROR L / MIRROR R

  5. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly LH with its connectors still connected (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z3-5 (VDD) - z3-14 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 4.7 to 5.3 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z3-14 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      (Outer Mirror Control ECU Assembly LH)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  6. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly RH with its connectors still connected (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z2-5 (VDD) - z2-14 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 4.7 to 5.3 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z2-14 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
