DTC C1B14: Stroke Sensor Circuit; DTC C1B24: Stroke Sensor(Actuator Angle Indeterminate) [12/2017 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Chassis > DRS > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1B14 or C1B24 is output as a past DTC A
      DTC C1B14 or C1B24 is output as a current DTC B

  2. PERFORM ACTUATOR FORCED ACTIVATION 
    1. Perform actuator forced activation.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2017 - 10/2023] 

      Chassis > DRS > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Activate Rear Steering Motor

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Chassis > DRS > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1B14 or C1B24 is output as a current DTC A
      DTC C1B14 or C1B24 is output as a past DTC B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  4. INSPECT REAR STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (STROKE SENSOR) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the z20 rear steering link assembly connector from the DRS ECU (rear steering control ECU).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z20-4 (ARV) - z20-5 (ARG) Always 5 to 50 Ω
      z20-12 (AS1) - z20-5 (ARG) Always 4 to 5 kΩ
      z20-13 (AS2) - z20-5 (ARG) Always 12 to 14.5 kΩ
      z20-4 (ARV) - z20-12 (AS1) Always 4 to 5 kΩ
      z20-4 (ARV) - z20-13 (AS2) Always 12 to 14.5 kΩ
      z20-12 (AS1) - z20-13 (AS2) Always 16 to 19 kΩ
      z20-4 (ARV) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher
      z20-5 (ARG) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher
      z20-12 (AS1) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher
      z20-13 (AS2) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE DRS ECU (REAR STEERING CONTROL ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]
