Cruise Control Switch Circuit [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE ON TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List

      Cruise Control Main Switch Cruise control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Cruise control switch (ON/OFF button) pushed
      OFF: Cruise control switch (ON/OFF button) released

      OFF: +/RES switch off
      -
      SET/COAST Switch -/SET switch signal ON or OFF ON: -/SET switch on
      OFF: -/SET switch off

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Cruise Control Main Switch
      RES/ACC Switch
      SET/COAST Switch

      OK

      When the cruise control switch is operated, the display changes as shown above.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Remove the cruise control switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the cruise control switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE 
    1. Remove the cruise control switch wire.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Spiral with Sensor Cable Sub-assembly)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Cruise Control Switch)

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z5-1 (R/N) - B-2 (R/N) Always Below 1 Ω
      z5-3 (CCS) - B-3 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      z5-4 (ECC) - B-1 (ECC) Always Below 1 Ω
      z5-1 (R/N) or B-2 (R/N) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z5-3 (CCS) or B-3 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z5-4 (ECC) or B-1 (ECC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:

    REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O25 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q1 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O25-1 (CCS) - Q1-23 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-8 (R/N) - Q1-10 (CCHG) Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-1 (CCS) or Q1-23 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O25-8 (R/N) or Q1-10 (CCHG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 01/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
