Cruise Control Switch Circuit [11/2017 - 01/2023]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List

      Cruise Control Main Switch Cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) status ON or OFF ON: Cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) pushed
      OFF: Cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) not pushed

      RES/ACC Switch +RES switch signal ON or OFF ON: +RES switch on
      OFF: +RES switch off
      -
      SET/COAST Switch -SET switch signal ON or OFF ON: -SET switch on
      OFF: -SET switch off

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Cruise Control Main Switch
      RES/ACC Switch
      SET/COAST Switch

      OK

      The Data List items shown in the table change according to the operation of the cruise control main switch.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2017 - 01/2023]

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the cruise control main switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the cruise control main switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - 01/2023]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2017 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  COMPONENTS [03/2019 - 01/2023] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O25 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q2 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O25-7 (CCS) - Q2-17 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      O25-7 (CCS) or Q2-17 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result: 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - 01/2023]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
