Removal [03/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHANGE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) 
    NOTE:

    Removing the steering column cover (lower) in the incorrect order will cause the parts to break.

    1. Release the tilt and telescopic lever and fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    2. Lock the tilt and telescopic lever.
    3. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the left and remove the screw.

    4. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right and remove the screw.

    5. Push the left side of the steering column cover (lower) to disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    6. Push the right side of the steering column cover (lower) to disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    7. Insert your fingers into the opening for the tilt lever on the steering column cover (lower) and disengage the claw (A).

      HINT: 

      Spread the claw to disengage it.

    8. Disengage the 2 claws (B) to remove the steering column cover (lower).
    9. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to separate the steering column cover (upper) from the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

    10. Disengage the claw to remove the steering column cover (upper).

  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 
    1. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the left and remove the screw.

    2. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right and remove the screw.

    3. Remove the screw.

    4. Push the left side of the steering column cover (lower) to disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    5. Push the right side of the steering column cover (lower) to disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    6. Disengage the 2 claws.

    7. Remove the steering column cover (lower) as shown in the illustration.

    8. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to separate the steering column cover (upper) from the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

    9. Disengage the claw to remove the steering column cover (upper).

  4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the windshield wiper switch assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      If the claw is pulled with excessive force, it may break.
