Entry Exterior Alarm and Answer-back Buzzer do not Sound [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CUSTOMIZE SETTING (WIRELESS BUZZER RESP) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting / Wireless Door Lock.

      Wireless Door Lock 

      Tester Display Description Default Setting ECU
      Wireless Buzzer Resp Wireless buzzer response ON 0:OFF, 1:ON Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      "ON" is displayed A
      "OFF" is displayed B

    Result: 

    PERFORM CUSTOMIZE SETTING. Refer to  CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [08/2019 - ]

  2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check that the function operates normally.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2015 - ]

      Result

      Wireless door lock function operates normally A
      Wireless door lock function does not operate normally B

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2015 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2019 - ]

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (EACH UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

    GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (Proceed to Door Unlock Detection Switch Circuit). Refer to  Door Unlock Detection Switch Circuit [09/2015 - ]

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WIRELESS BUZZER) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2016 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  5. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER 
    1. Disconnect the A58 wireless door lock buzzer connector.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    6. Perform Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

    7. While performing the Active Test, measure the voltage between the terminals of the wireless door lock buzzer.

      Standard Voltage

      (frequency: 2 kHz, high voltage: 11 to 14 V, low voltage: below 1 V)

    REPLACE WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2015 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 08/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Disconnect the A58 wireless door lock buzzer connector.
    3. Reconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A58-1 (B) - MB-21 (BZR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A58-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A58-1 (B) or MB-21 (BZR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2016 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A58 wireless door lock buzzer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A58-1 (B) - 2C-29 (BZR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A58-1 (B) or 2C-29 (BZR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2016 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
