DTC C1297: Steering Angle Sensor [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check that no CAN communication system DTCs are output.

   Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2019 - ]

4. Start the engine.
5. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 35 km/h (24 mph), turn the steering wheel to the right and left and check that no Vehicle Stability Control system (steering angle sensor) DTCs are output.

   Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   CAN communication system DTCs and vehicle stability control system DTC are not output	A
   CAN communication DTCs are output	B
   Vehicle stability control system (steering angle sensor) DTCs are output	C

   HINT: 

   If CAN communication DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for the CAN communication system first.

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Data List.
5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
