DTC C1A75-87: Steering Vibrator System Missing Message [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA (WAVEFORM) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Using an oscilloscope, measure the waveform at F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Measurement Condition

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Tester Range
      F21-1 (LDA) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 5 V/DIV., 1 ms/DIV.
      NOTE:

      The oscilloscope waveform is for reference only and does not include noise, fluctuations, etc.

      OK

      A waveform similar to that in the illustration can be observed.

    5. Connect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F21-4 (BHT) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Connect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F21-2 (EHT) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Connect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE STEERING VIBRATION ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the S4 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Disconnect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F21-1 (LDA) - S4-2 (STRV) Always Below 1 Ω
      F21-1 (LDA) or S4-2 (STRV) - Body ground Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the F21 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    6. Connect the S4 forward recognition camera connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA)
