How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  2. CONFIRM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS

  3. CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the voltage of the battery.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

    2. While referring to the component layout drawings and wiring diagrams, etc., visually inspect for blown fuses, an open or short in a wire harness or improperly connected connectors.

      HINT: 

      If the voltage of the battery is less than 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before performing the diagnosis procedure.

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the GTS, perform a CAN bus check and check for DTCs to confirm that the CAN communication system is not malfunctioning.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2023 - ]

  5. RECHECK FOR DTCS AND FREEZE FRAME DATA 
    1. Check for and record any DTCs and freeze frame data.

      Refer to FREEZE FRAME DATA [10/2023 - ] 

      Chassis > DRS > Trouble Codes 

    2. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.

      Chassis > DRS > Clear DTCs 

    3. Based on the saved DTCs and freeze frame data, simulate the malfunction conditions and check if the DTCs are output again.

    Result: 

    REFER TO "DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART" AND PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING, ADJUSTMENT AND/OR REPAIR (IN ACCORDANCE WITH EACH DTC). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK FOR VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (RoB) 
    1. Using the GTS, check for vehicle control history (RoB).

      Chassis > DRS > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)
    2. If vehicle control history (RoB) is output, record the vehicle control history (RoB) and freeze frame data.

      Result

      Vehicle control history (RoB) is not output but malfunction can be confirmed and reproduced A
      Vehicle control history (RoB) is not output and malfunction cannot be confirmed and reproduced B
      Vehicle control history (RoB) is output C

    DTCs may be stored by other systems when performing an inspection of the DRS system. Make sure to check for and clear any DTCs of other systems after performing an inspection of the DRS system.
