INSPECT ASC SYSTEM OPERATION
WARNING:
Check for safety before performing any tests.

HINT:

If the drive mode is changed to ECO, NORMAL or SPORT S mode while the ASC system operating, the dynamic engine sounds will stop.
1. Check additional engine sounds generation
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Select SPORT S+ mode.
  3. Move the shift lever to D or M. When the vehicle speed is 6 km/h (4 mph) or more and the engine speed is 980 RPM or more, check that additional engine sounds are generated in accordance with the engine speed.
    HINT:
    
    Check the difference in sound when the mode is changed between ECO (not generated), NORMAL (not generated), SPORT S (not generated) and SPORT S+ (generated).
2. Check intake flow noise generation
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Select SPORT S+ mode.
  3. Move the shift lever to P or N.
  4. Apply the parking brake and secure the wheels with wheel chocks.
  5. With the accelerator pedal opening angle below 10%, increase the accelerator pedal opening angle to between 15% and 70% and keep it within that range.
  6. With the accelerator pedal opening angle between 15% and 70%, increase the accelerator pedal opening angle by 15% or more in 0.01 seconds and check that intake flow noise is generated.
    HINT:
    - Check the difference in sound when the mode is changed between ECO (not generated), NORMAL (not generated), SPORT S (not generated) and SPORT S+ (generated).
    - To generate intake flow noise again, decrease the accelerator pedal opening angle to below 10%.
