DTC P0606-94: Control Module Processor Unexpected Operation [08/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0606-94) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Start the engine.
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. With the vehicle stopped, repeat the accelerator pedal operation (press the accelerator pedal from a state where it is not depressed) several times.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P0606-94 is output B

    Result: 

    A 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2020 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal sensor assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-6 (VPA) - A28-55 (VPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-3 (VPA2) - A28-58 (VPA2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-4 (VCPA) - A28-57 (VCPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-1 (VCP2) - A28-60 (VCP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-5 (EPA) - A28-56 (EPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-2 (EPA2) - A28-59 (EPA2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-6 (VPA) or A28-55 (VPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A24-3 (VPA2) or A28-58 (VPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A24-4 (VCPA) or A28-57 (VCPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A24-1 (VCP2) or A28-60 (VCP2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A24-5 (EPA) or A28-56 (EPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A24-2 (EPA2) or A28-59 (EPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
