DTC U0232-87: Lost Communication with Side Obstacle Detection Control Module "A" Missing Message; DTC U1236-87: Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor Front Side "B" Missing Message [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs 
    1. Read each DTC and check the diagnosis pattern using the table below.

  4. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH (A) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

    1. Disconnect the A63 front side radar sensor (B) connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Clear the DTCs.

  6. INSPECT FRONT SIDE RADAR SENSOR (B) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

  7. CHECK CAN MAIN WIRE (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH (A)) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the K9 blind spot monitor sensor LH (A) connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K9-3 (CA1P) - K9-2 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    1. Disconnect the E69 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

  9. INSPECT CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check for DTCs.

  10. CHECK CAN MAIN WIRE (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the o3 forward recognition camera connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      o3-3 (CA3L) - o3-4 (CA3H) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      o3-3 (CA3L) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      o3-4 (CA3H) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      o3-3 (CA3L) - +B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      o3-4 (CA3H) - +B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A63 front side radar sensor (B) connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-3 (CA1P) - A63-2 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

  12. CHECK CAN MAIN WIRE (CAN JUNCTION TERMINAL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the K74 CAN junction terminal connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K74-2 (CANL) - K74-3 (CANH) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      K74-2 (CANL) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      K74-3 (CANH) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      K74-2 (CANL) - +B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      K74-3 (CANH) - +B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
