How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [12/2017 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT BATTERY 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V (Engine switch off)

      HINT: 

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* 

    HINT:

  6. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2019 - 10/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2022 - 10/2023]

      CAN communication system DTCs are not output. A
      CAN communication system DTCs are output. B

      HINT: 

      • If any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for the CAN communication system first.
      • If communication to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly cannot be established through the Techstream, inspect terminals CANH and CANL of the DLC3 and the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly, and the IG circuit of the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.

    Result:
