Installation [09/2023 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [09/2023 - ] 

  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Make sure that the wire harness is not interfering with the steering column assembly.

    HINT: As the illustration shown is an example, the actual details may differ.

      1. Install the steering column assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

        Torque: 36 N*m (367 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) 

        NOTE:

        After temporarily tightening the bolt, fully tighten the 2 nuts then fully tighten the bolt.

      2. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering column assembly.
  4. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark - -
      Install in this direction - -
      1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column assembly.
      2. Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly to the steering column assembly.
      3. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

      4. Tighten the clamp.
  5. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER 
  6. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2023 - ]

  8. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2023 - 12/2023]

  9. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not remove/install the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the auxiliary battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
    HINT: As the illustration shown is an example, the actual details may differ.

      *a Clamp - -
      1. Using pliers, expand the clamp.
      2. While holding the clamp expanded, install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly and engage the claw.
      3. Return the clamp to its original position.
      4. Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
  10. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
  11. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
  12. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  13. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
  14. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2023 - 12/2023] 

  15. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM 
    1. Set the auto tilt away function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter.

  16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    Parking Support Brake System Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2023 - ]
    Dynamic Torque Control AWD System* Refer to CALIBRATION [09/2023 - ]
    Parking Assist Monitor System Refer to CALIBRATION [09/2023 - ]
    Panoramic View Monitor System Refer to CALIBRATION [09/2023 - ]
    Advanced Park Refer to CALIBRATION [09/2023 - ]

    *: for Gasoline Model AWD:
