Confirmation Driving Pattern
By performing a confirmation drive, you can confirm the reoccurrence of DTC.
WARNING:
When carrying out the inspection, use a place where you are able to carry it out safely and also pay close attention to your surroundings.
Also, when driving make absolutely sure that all road traffic laws, such as speed limits, are observed.
HINT:
- After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2023 - ]
- When clearing the permanent DTCs, refer to the "CLEAR PERMANENT DTC" procedure.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2023 - ]
- Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
- Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON [A].
- Start the engine.
- Turn the VSC OFF SW to the status of VSC OFF.
- Press the accelerator pedal 1/2 to 3/4 (25° or more) to boost the vehicle speed to 60 km/h (37 mph) or higher.[B]
- Fully press the accelerator pedal (to at least 56.542°) and operate the brake pedal with the left foot while maintaining a speed of at least 60 km/h (approximately 6 seconds).
- When the vehicle speed begins to decelerate, ease the brake pedal to the point where the brake lights are activated, then keep both the accelerator pedal and brake pedal pressed for at least 8 seconds while maintaining a speed of at least 40 km/h (25 mph).
HINT:
If the engine speed drops to around 1000 rpm when the brake pedal is pressed, it can be determined that the control is normally activated.
- Read the pending DTCs.
HINT:
- If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
- Input the DTC: P0606-09.
- Check the DTC judgment result.
HINT:
- If the judgment result is NORMAL, the system is normal.
- If the judgment result is ABNORMAL, the system is malfunctioning.
- If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE, perform steps [A] through [B] again.
- [A] to [B]: Normal judgment procedure.
The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.
- When clearing the permanent DTCs, do not disconnect the cable from the battery terminal or attempt to clear the DTCs during this procedure, as doing so will clear the universal trip and normal judgment histories.
