Removal [08/2023 - ]: Procedure
- RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (for PHEV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- for HEV Model:
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [10/2024 - ]
- for PHEV Model:
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19
- for HEV Model:
- DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PHEV Model)

- DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE (for PHEV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 - REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE AND ACCESSORY (for PHEV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 - DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A (for PHEV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 - REMOVE EARTH BOLT CAP

- DISCONNECT NO. 2 EARTH WIRE

- REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
See step 5 - REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID O-RING
See step 6 - REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING VALVE ASSEMBLY
*1 Camshaft Timing Valve Assembly - - *a Bolt *b Do not remove - Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the bolt.NOTE:
Do not remove the other 2 bolts.
HINT:
If it is difficult to loosen the bolt due to the tools contacting the vehicle body or other parts, rotate the crankshaft to move the bolt to a position where it can be removed easily.
- Remove the camshaft timing valve assembly from the camshaft timing exhaust gear assembly.NOTE:
If the camshaft timing valve assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the bolt.
