Idle Speed Switch

  1. Remove idle speed switch connector and attach one lead of ohmmeter to switch (mounted on the fuel injector pump) and the other to ground. See Figure . Operate the throttle linkage.
  2. When the idle speed switch opens, with a clearance of .04" (1 mm) between the idle stop screw and the control lever, the ohmmeter will show continuity. When the throttle linkage is moved further (increasing the distance between the idle stop screw and the control lever), the ohmmeter will show no continuity.
