EGR Module

  1. To check speed relay inside EGR module, run engine until coolant temperature is above 122°F (50°C).
  2. Disconnect vacuum tube between the EGR solenoid and the EGR valve. Place finger over vacuum port of the EGR solenoid and increase engine speed.
  3. When the engine speed reaches 940-1060 RPM, the speed relay switch will turn on, creating a vacuum at EGR solenoid vacuum port. Increase the engine speed to 2800-2960 RPM. The speed relay switch will turn off and vacuum will cease.
  4. If the speed relay switch is okay, replace vacuum line. If not, replace the EGR module.
