Fuel Tank-To-Pump System
Fuel is drawn from the tank by an electric pump. The pump receives power when ignition is in "RUN" or "START" position. It delivers fuel at 5.6 psi (.4 kg/cm2 ).
A special fuel pick-up separates water and dirt from fuel. Fuel is drawn from tank, through oversize fuel lines, to fuel conditioner (filter). Fuel is pulled out of the conditioner, by the electric pump, then pushed to injection pump. A fuel return line is allows excess fuel to flow back to the tank through a special nipple. DO NOT remove this nipple; it stirs the fuel to eliminate wax and ice build-up at the pick-up.
