Removal and Replacement

Powertrain Control Module (PCM):






REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Remove LH instrument panel lower side panel (04326).

3. Remove Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector retainer bolt.

4. Remove main wiring connector from PCM.

5. Remove PCM bracket support (12B522).

6. Remove PCM.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten main wiring retainer bolt to 3.7 Nm (32 in lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
