Instrument Cluster Module (ICM): Notes

CAUTION: Prior to removal of Instrument Cluster Module (ICM), it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new ICM. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage.
NOTE: To avoid damage to instrument cluster lens, place a protective cloth over upper steering column cover before removing instrument cluster. Instrument cluster is not repairable. DO NOT disassemble instrument cluster.
