Brake Switch (Cruise Control): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the instrument panel insulator.

NOTE: Disconnect the footwell lamp electrical connector.







2. Remove the deactivator switch.
1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Rotate and remove the deactivator switch.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Initial installation of a deactivator switch allows for one adjustment. If additional adjustments are required, install a new switch.







1. Rotate the lock knob counterclockwise to the stop to unlock.
2. With the engine running, fully depress and hold the brake pedal.







3. Install the deactivator switch.
1 Position the deactivator switch in the bracket and rotate clockwise.
2 Connect the electrical connector.
4. Slowly release the brake pedal.
