Test M: Traction Control Cannot Be Disabled (2001 Models)
- Turn ignition off. Connect NGS tester or scan tool. retrieve and document any continuous DTCs. If any DTCs are retrieved, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If no DTCs are retrieved, install new HCU. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABCM connector. Connect breakout box. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between a good ground and breakout box pin No. 17. If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, install new ECU. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect traction control switch connector. Measure resistance between traction control switch connector pins No. 1 and 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, install new ECU. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, install new traction control switch. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
