Generator - 3.9L: Notes

CAUTION: The generator must be supported by hand after removing the bolts prior to disconnecting the electrical connector or damage to the harness may result.
CAUTION: Care must be taken when removing the generator to prevent damage to the air conditioning and cooling lines.
NOTE: The A/C suction line may need to be positioned rearward to ease removal of the generator.
  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Position the front end accessory drive belt aside.
  3. Remove the front valance panel end air deflector.
  4. Remove the components, in the order indicated in Fig 1.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
