Ignition Coil-On-Plug and Spark Plug: Notes

MATERIALS

Item Specification
Motorcraft Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound XG-3 or equivalent ESE-M1C171-A
RTV Silicone Sealant F5TZ-19G204-AB -
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Air Cleaner Assembly .
  4. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

    TO REMOVE INDIVIDUAL PARTS, ONLY CARRY OUT THE LISTED STEPS: 

    IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG AND SPARK PLUG REMOVAL STEPS

    Part Steps
    Ignition coil 1-4
    Spark plug 1-5

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
