Removal and Installation
NOTE:
The speed control sensor is also known as the forward looking sensor.
NOTE:
If a new speed control sensor is installed, the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) automatically configures the speed control sensor. The vertical and horizontal alignment procedures will need to be carried out to align the sensor.
Speed control sensor or bracket
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the front lower air deflector. For additional information, refer to BUMPERS .
- Remove the speed control sensor fascia cover by pulling straight forward (early build) or remove the front bumper cover (late build). For additional information, refer to

Speed control sensor only
- Remove the 2 nuts, the adjustment screw and the speed control sensor.
- To install, tighten the nuts to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Bracket only
- When replacing the bracket, disconnect the speed control electrical connector.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the speed control sensor bracket assembly.
- To install, tighten the speed control sensor nut to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
Speed control sensor and bracket
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Do not install the speed control sensor fascia cover (early build) or the front bumper cover (late build) until the alignment procedures are carried out.
- Vertically and horizontally align the speed control sensor. For additional information, refer to SPEED CONTROL SENSOR ADJUSTMENT .
