Selector Lever Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the selector lever bezel. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER BEZEL .
  2. Remove the rubber storage tray.

  3. Remove the access panel.

  4. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the selector lever ballstud.

  5. Depress the 2 tabs and remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever.

  6. Pull the LH center console lower trim panel away from the center console to release the retaining clip. Position aside the LH center console lower trim panel to access the selector lever cable.

  7. Pull the carpet back away from the floor and center console far enough to access the selector lever cable grommet nuts and the retainer.

  8. Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer from the floor and position the cable aside.

  9. Remove the selector lever cable grommet nuts.

  10. NOTE: Note the routing of the selector lever cable under the heater housing for assembly.

  11. Route the selector lever cable from under the HVAC unit. Pull the selector lever cable through the HVAC vent tunnel until the end is behind the LH front floor vent and position the selector lever cable aside.
  12. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) and outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  13. Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer from the brake tube bracket.

  14. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.

  15. Depress the 2 tabs, remove the selector lever cable from the bracket and remove the selector lever cable through the inside of the vehicle.
