Driver Front Seat Module (DSM): Installation

All vehicles 

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

   Using a diagnostic scan tool, complete the PMI process for the DSM or SCMB (front passenger seat control module) following the on-screen instructions.

   Vehicles with climate controlled seats 

3. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new DSM.

   Using a diagnostic scan tool, complete the PMI process for the SCME following the on-screen instructions.

   All vehicles 

4. Repower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Repowering .
5. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new DSM.

   Operate the seat in all directions through the full range of travel to set soft stops on all memory controlled functions and avoid a premature stopping point occurrence after the vehicle is returned to the customer.

   Vehicles with memory steering column 

6. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new DSM.

   Operate the steering column in all directions through the full range of travel to set the soft stops and avoid a premature stopping point occurrence after the vehicle is returned to the customer.
