Climate Control Housing: Installation

- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to filling and bleeding without a vacuum cooling system filler. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding 2.0L EcoBoost . Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding 2.3L EcoBoost .

NOTE: Lubricating the grommets with silicone grease will aid in the installation of the engine appearance cover, and any future removal and installation of the cover.
Lubricate each grommet with silicone grease.
Material: Motorcraft® Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound / XG-3-A (ESE-M1C171-A)
- Position the engine appearance cover onto engine with the grommets aligned with the studs.
- Press down on the engine appearance cover at each grommet location to attach the grommets onto the studs.

NOTE: Anytime the parking brake switch electrical connector has been disconnected, the EPB system is deactivated and a DTC is stored in the ABS module. Perform the following step to restore the EPB system and clear the ABS module DTC.
Apply and release the parking brake twice within 5 seconds, pausing with the switch in the NEUTRAL position for approximately one-half second between each apply and release.

NOTE: If the climate control housing is being replaced, remove the air plenum bezel from the new climate control housing prior to installation.
Install the air plenum bezel and tighten the retainers.
