Fuel Injection Pump: Installation

  1. Align the match mark on pump with mark on rear seal. See Fig 1 . Tighten the 2 nuts to 14-19 ft. lbs. (19-26 N.m). Install Woodruff key to injection pump drive shaft.
  2. Install pump pulley to injection pump shaft and align match marks. Hold pulley with 2 bolts and tighten lock nut to 43-51 ft. lbs. (60-70 N.m). Turn crankshaft to align match mark of camshaft pulley with mark on rear seal cover. See Figure . Loosen bolt tensioner lock nut, turn tensioner clockwise as far as possible and temporarily tighten lock nut.

  3. Install rear timing belt. Loosen tensioner lock nut to apply tension to belt. Remove fixing bolts. Turn crankshaft twice in direction of rotation, then tighten tensioner lock nut to 14-19 ft. lbs. (19-26 N.m).
  4. Repeat remainder of removal procedure to complete installation. Bleed air from injection pump.
