Fuel Injection Pump: Removal
- Remove battery negative cable, accelerator control cable, cruise control cable (if equipped) and cold start device cable. Remove fuel cut valve and pick-up coil couplers. Remove injection pipes and hoses.
- Remove rear timing belt cover. Align match mark of fuel injection pump pulley with mark on rear seal plate. See Fig 1 . Loosen belt tensioner lock bolt. Turn tensioner clockwise with screwdriver into the groove, then tighten lock nut temporarily.
- Remove belt. If reusing, mark direction of engine rotation on belt. Using 2 fixing bolts, loosen the injection pump pulley lock nut, then remove it and the spring washer. Remove fixing bolts. Remove pulley using a puller. Do not drop Woodruff key.
- Apply match marks on pump flange and rear seal plate if necessary. Loosen injection pump nuts and bolts, and remove.
