Component Testing: Dashpot: 626
- Remove air cleaner and connect a tachometer to engine. Operate throttle lever and check that dashpot rod comes out quickly. Release throttle and make sure that it returns slowly to idle position after contacting dashpot.
- Start engine. Slowly increase engine speed and check when throttle lever just releases from dashpot rod. Lever should release at 1900-2100 RPM. If the dashpot does not perform as described, loosen lock nut and adjust.
