Hot Idle Compensation

  1. Bring engine to normal operating temperature. Remove upper air cleaner cover assembly. Connect voltmeter to the connector terminal No. E and ground. See Fig 1 .
  2. Using a heat source, warm up intake air temperature sensor to more than 131°F (55°C). Ensure voltmeter shows zero volts. If voltage is found test the intake air temperature sensor. See AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR TESTING in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM article.
