1. Remove the combination meter connector.
2. Connect an ohmmeter between ``U'' and ``N'' terminals of the 22-pin connector, Fig. 7.
3. Ensure there is intermittent continuity between terminals while rotating the speedometer cable shaft.
4. If continuity is not shown four times per revolution of the shaft, replace the speedometer.
