Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

AWS Solenoid Valve Testing:

1. Unplug solenoid valve connector.
2. Check resistance across connector terminals. It should be 9.3 - 11.3 ohms.
3. Apply 12V and a ground across connector terminals. Check that solenoid "clicks" when power is applied.
4. If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.

Output voltage for the AWS solenoid valve can be checked at ECU terminal 3J. Less than 17 seconds after cold start, terminal voltage should be below 2.0V. After 17 seconds, voltage should be approximately 12V.
